1. The tournament is scheduled for February
27th, 2010 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm on
Forest Lake (Lake one) near the downtown Forest Lake public access.
No access into the contest area prior to 8:00am on the day of the contest.
You may enter contest area after 8am to pick and reserve holes.
No lines in the water from 11:40am to the start of the contest
at 12pm.
Anyone pre-fishing within 24 hours before the contest must register with contest officials at the judge ’s tent.
2. Should inclement weather cause cancellation, the tournament will be held on
February 28rd, 2010.
Official cancellation notices will be posted at www.icefishingforestlake.com
3. Entry fee for the contest is $35.00 per hole for tickets purchased prior to
January 29th, 2010.
As of January 30th, 2010 the tickets will be $45.00 per hole.
No refunds will be given for any reason.
4. Contestants must fish in the area designated and use the holes provided. NO
AUGERS allowed.
Contestants must check-in and receive a participant tag
prior to fishing in the
contest. Contestants must have their
participant tag visible at all times.
Contestants without a participant tag can
not register a fish.
Ticket checks and container inspections will be performed.
Contestants may move to any unoccupied holes within the contest area.
You can bring as many poles as you like, but may only use one pole per hole.
Contestants will not be allowed to leave the contest area between 12:00pm and
3:00pm.
Anyone leaving the contest area will be disqualified.
5. NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES will be allowed in the contest area other than contest
officials, security, and law enforcement.
Any contestant bringing a motor vehicle within 100 yards of the contest perimeter
will be disqualified
Please call 651-249-1091 prior to the contest for handicap access info, or
notify a parking attendant the day of the event.
6. No shelters of any kind will be allowed.
Contestants and their holes must be in plain view from all sides at all times.
Dress warm!
7. All fish entered must be brought to the weigh-in tent immediately.
The fish must be ALIVE. Any fish that are dead, frozen or have been tampered
with will be disqualified.
Fish may only be registered by their rightful owner, but exceptions are made for the handicapped.
This is a catch and release contest. Please bring your fish to the weigh-in tent
in a bucket or bag.
Any contestant that tampers with the weight of the fish will
be disqualified from
the contest.
Judges have the right to verify that the fish were caught legally.
Top prizewinners will be subject to a polygraph test.
In the event deception is detected or the contestant refuses to take the test,
the contestants
’ prize will be forfeited.
The decisions of the judge are final.
8. All Minnesota fishing regulations and laws must be followed.
Minnesota DNR regulations.
Any fish caught illegally will be disqualified.
Minnesota DNR officers will be patrolling the lake.
All fish must be caught and the contestant be in line at the weigh-in tent by
3:00pm on the day of the contest.
Contestants are responsible for verifying the weight of the fish at the time of
weigh-in.
There will be a leader board located in the registration area. All efforts will
be made to keep the board up to date.
Prize places determined by largest weight and time registered. In the event of a
tie, the fish registered first takes priority.
Any legal fish may be registered with the
exception of bait fish. Ex: suckers, shiners, fatheads, crappie
minnows.
No Muskellunge will be
accepted and must be returned to the water immediately. Contest
results remain unofficial until verified by the head judge.
9. Each contestant will be allowed to fish one hole per ticket, two holes
maximum.
You may register, as many fish as you like, but only the heaviest fish you
registered will qualify for a contest prize.
No contestant will be eligible for more than one contest prize.
10. Prizes are the responsibility of the contest and raffle winners
and must be claimed with in 90 days.
Taxes, licensing, registration, transportation,
set-up and all other expenses incurred
are the responsibility of the contestant winners.
11. Contestants that win prizes that require registration (Truck, ATV, boat or fish house) will be given a merchandise certificate and will need to claim their prize at business that supplied the prize. 12. Prizes that require a contestant be of a certain age will need to have their parent claim the prize or a substitution of equal value can be made.
13. Contestants are responsible for their own safety, actions, and property.
14. Large coolers and containers will be
allowed after inspection.
No spears, augers.
Heaters, chairs, bait pails, ice chisels, depth finders
and underwater cameras are allowed.
Ice chisels are recommended because the holes are drilled many hours before the
start of the contest.
No fishing licenses will be sold on the lake.
NO GLASS containers allowed. They will be confiscated and forfeited to contest
officials.
15. There will be NO parking on the ice.
Contestants will be required to park in off-site lots. Watch for signs the day
of the contest.
You are encouraged to carpool. *****Shuttles will start at 9:00am and will
continue until 8:00pm.****
16. Food and beverages concessions will be available on the lake. Carry in food
and beverage are discouraged.
17. The tournament ticket and raffle tickets are two separate items.
18.
Raffle tickets will be available for $10.00 and
do not need to be purchased in conjunction with tournament ticket. Raffle tickets must
be purchased with cash. Need not be present to win raffle.
19. Members of the Forest Lake VFW post 4210 and Ice Hole Productions, LLC that
are directly involved with the contest on the tournament day are not eligible
for contest prizes.
20. All contestants and others hereby consent to the use of any photographs or likeness
of themselves to be used in the promotion of our contest, including but not limited
to print, radio, television, etc.
21. Failure to comply with any contest rules subjects’ contestants to disqualification and will be removed from the competition site.
The right to refuse to sell and/or revoke a ticket to anyone is here by reserved
by the contest officials.
22. Ice Hole Productions, LLC and the Forest Lake VFW post 4210 would like to
