The Twin Cities Largest Ice Fishing Event to be held on February 27, 2010
Forest Lake, MN - Back again in 2010, the Forest Lake VFW Fishapalooza Ice
Fishing Contest is again hosting the largest ice fishing contest in the Twin
Cities. This years contest builds on the huge success of the 2008 contest that
gave over $170,000 in prizes, raised over $30,000 for the Forest Lake VFW
charity, and was great fun for thousands contestants. Men, women, and children
of all ages, from far and near put there fishing skills to test to win amazing
prizes that the contest in February of 2010 is expected to surpass.
A large portion of the proceeds from the February 2010 contest on Forest Lake
will be donated to the VFW to support important programs such as
"Meals-on-Wheels" and medical assistance for Veterans returning from recent
combat.
The incredible prizes available include a Skeeter walleye boat from Frankie’s Marine, 5 fish houses from Ice Castle, 8 portable fish houses, 4 Polaris
ATV's, Marcum sonars and cameras, dozens of the new Strikemaster Solo ice
augers, GPS units, as well as cash prizes with 1st first place prize $20,000 cash! Prizes this year are totaling $180,000!
